There are many reasons why you may wish to factory reset or hard reset Infinix Hot 2 X510. Hard resetting your Android device is never a thing to fear.

To hard reset Infinix Hot 2, you should be very careful because the steps are not too conventional to earlier Infinix phones. By default, Infinix in some way hide the normal keystrokes to activate stock recovery necessary for hard reset.

NOTICE: Hard resetting Infinix hot 2 is easier with the initial Android version, Android Lollipop, 5.0. This step may not work smoothly for you if you have updated to Marshmallow, Android 6. Don’t press the thumb down button if it doesn’t work for you.
Instead, you may need to flash custom recovery like CWM or TWRP.

- Switch off your phone
- Press and hold the power button at the same time with volume up button. Release immediately when it shows Infinix logo.
- You should now see a dead Android logo No command.
- Hold the power button for 2 seconds and at the same time tap the volume up button to enter system recovery option.
- Use the volume up /volume down to move up and down around the system recovery.
- Now, use power button to select “Wipe data/ factory reset“
- Select “Wipe data/factory reset
- Scroll to choose YES to confirm hard reset
- Switch off your phone
- Press volume up button followed by the power button at the same time. Remove your finger from the power button when the Infinix logo displays on your screen. But leave your other finger on the volume up button until it shows the system stock recovery as in the image above.
Wait until data wipe is complete. Now choose Reboot system now.

please I try using the power button + volume up to factory set my infinix X510 after I could not remember the unlock pattern but it just loading the android and infinix and instantly it would take it home. so, I could not hard reset up till now.
using the power button + volume up will reset your unlock pattern unless you are talking about Privacy protection password which this procedure don’t take care of
This command doesn’t work on x510 nd don’t know reason

This shows that your Hot 2 has been upgraded to Marshmallow, Android 5. You can do that unless you install a custom recovery. Take your to someone that knows how to install either CWM or TWRP custom recovery
