We are not going to use GBWhatsApp or any form of an app in order to tweak how these WhatsApp privacy tricks work. Just read along as we show you.

View WhatsApp Stories without been seen on View List
This is a very simple trick. It is achieved by turning off the Read receipts feature on Privacy Settings on WhatsApp.
Many people have used this feature to hide their message read status to their friends. When they read messages, it won’t be marked blue indicating that they have read the message instead it still shows not read to their friends.
When you also view WhatsApp stories, it will not be counted as seen in the view list because the Read receipts is turned off.
How to turn off Read receipts
- Open WhatsApp
- Go to Settings
- Go to Account
- Go to Privacy
- Then scroll down to Read receipts and untick it (uncheck the check mark).
To turn it off at anytime, repeat the steps above.
Backdate Last seen while you are always chatting.
Backdating last seen is a trick they use on GBWhatsApp when the feature (which is not found on the official WhatsApp) is turned on.
But in this guide, we will show you how you can backdate last seen without using GBWhatsApp. What Backdating last seen means is that your friends will think that you have not been online from the date you start to backdate your last seen.
If I want my last seen to be on 20th July while I still come online to read and reply messages, then I will make it look like I have not been online since 20th July. It will be shown to your friends as Last seen on July 20.
Having said enough, let’s work on this WhatsApp privacy trick. Although, there are few limitations for this trick to work 100%. They are;
- You will not view WhatsApp stories unless you turned off Read receipts
- You may not download videos and images
- You may not post WhatsApp stories
- You won’t change profile picture or update About.
- You won’t open WhatsApp messages while mobile network is ON.

When new messages comes to your WhatsApp account. Do not open them yet while the mobile network (data) is still on. Perform the following

- Now turn on mobile network in order to send your messages. Your messages will be delivered to the recipients.

Read messages without being marked as read
This is a very simple WhatsApp privacy trick. It looks exactly as the above trick but it is quite different from it.
What we do here is to read messages while our mobile data is turned off. Follow the guide to see how it works.
- Turn off mobile network (data)
- Now open your WhatsApp messages
- Read and delete messages you have read
- Close WhatsApp from the recent Apps list to avoid showing that you’re online when you turn on mobile network.

Here, you read the messages while the mobile data was off. It will not count as read when you deleted it even when you turn the data on.
Delete contacts and turn off how your WhatsApp details are displayed to them.
This WhatsApp tricks always looks like as if someone has blocked the other. We are not going to block someone but we will only delete contacts we think we are done with on WhatsApp.
What you do is to delete those contacts from your device contacts or SIM contacts as the case may be. After deleting them, update your privacy settings as below;
- Last seen to My contacts
- Profile photo to My contacts
- About to My contacts
- Status to My contacts
Follow the steps to modify your WhatsApp privacy options above
- Open WhatsApp
- Go to Settings
- Go to Account
- Go to Privacy
When someone that is not your contact views your WhatsApp profile, everything will be blank.
Read Message and send messages while the unread badge is still active
This is another easy yet tricky. This is convenient where you have short messages. It is majorly to show your friends what you could do and also to increase the number of unread WhatsApp messages.
Reading messages but it still shows the number of unread messages. To do this, you have to create a personal group which you will be using to forward messages to your contacts.
This is how it works
When someone sends messages to you, you don’t even open their chats. AT least you might have read their chats through your device status bar or WhatsApp main screen.
What you do is to find a way to reply their messages without opening the chat. That is where Group comes into play. Create a casual group which necessarily don’t need to have more than 2 participants including you.
In this group, type and send what you wish to send in the group. Now tap and hold the message you want to send to someone you don’t want to open their chats in order to reveal the forward icon.
Now tap on the forward icon, locate the contact and tap send. They will receive your message but will notice that you have not read the chat. Also, the new message unread icon will still be active on your WhatsApp main screen.

- Choose Status Privacy
- Under the three options, choose My contacts except..
- Select the friends you would love to exclude from your WhatsApp stories.
