If you still cannot access Twitter in Nigeria as a result of the current Twitter ban by the Federal Government, we have written down simple steps on how to access Twitter.
Requirements
- Your smartphone – iPhone or Android
- VPN – Free or Paid
- Few tricks on Twitter
- Location settings (optional)
If you’re using Android,
- Go to Play Store
- Search for FREE VPN providers like Thunder VPN, Windscribe, Opera VPN, Secure VPN, Turbo VPN, VPN 360, Hotspot Shield. All these FREE VPN works fine in Nigeria.
If you’re using iOS
- Go to App Store
- Search for FREE VPN providers like Windscribe VPN, Turbo VPN, VPN – Proxy Unlimited, Nord VPN, Hotspot Shield. All these FREE VPN works fine in Nigeria.
Some of these VPN services may ask you to create an account or try their premium versions, you can create the account but skip the premium trial.
Now Open your downloaded VPN of choice, in this case, I am using Windscribe FREE version.
You can decide to choose “Best location” or simply click on the connect button to automatically connect you to a location (countries) with a higher signal.
You don’t have to worry about this location. Just connect to any country of your choice.
Once connected, head over to open your Twitter app.
Click on the search icon like you want to see the trends.
You should notice trending topics and hashtags in that country your VPN is connected to.
Do this simple trick with the Twitter Explore feature.
Click on the gear icon at the top right of your screen.
Toggle off “Show content in your current location”
Then choose Nigeria from the Explore locations and click done.
Viola you have arrived!
You can now see trending topics in Nigeria.
